The focus of 'Big Jeff' has always been "the music comes first".    Whether he's guiding his 4 - 5 backing musicians thru a Blues gig or kicking it with brother Jerry doing their patented 'Chapman Bros.' version of Southern Rock & Country for some of the locals.

For nearly 30 years, Jeff has been honing his vocal instrument beginning with his days performing Gospel with Jerry for their fellow youth group members.  Moving to a Country/Southern Rock format following high school, peppering Blues into the repertoire back in 1992.

As time passes, and musicians come & go, 'Big Jeff' began to absorb the Blues, from a few tunes to a full time passion, learning not only the music, but where it comes from & the people who inspired it.

A friend of Jeff's, Marcell Strong, (longtime St. Louis musician) gave him the 'Big Jeff' moniker, before he started his Blues Ensemble band.

Big Jeff has always strived to surround himself with the best players available, and provide the best performance, whether in a club venue, private event, festival or anything in between.
